Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Meningitis

Abstract

|
A case of pseudomonas aeruginosa(meningitis 9 days male infant) was treated with Erythromycin and penicillin and penicillin-streptomycin as soon as admission, but general condition was not improved.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa was found in the culture of the cerebrospinal fluid, the discharge of the umbilicus and blood, and so Colistin was started to administer on the 3rd hospital day. The patient was expired on the 4th hospital day, about 9 days after the onset. The portal of entry, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of this disease was reviewed.
